Meet Breena…

Born in Rochester, New York, Breena Keefe began her dance training at Pittsford Dance Studio before joining Draper Center for Dance Education at age 13. At 17, she was a gold medalist in both the contemporary and classical categories at the Indianapolis City Ballet Competition. Additionally, Breena traveled to Peru with the Draper Center Youth Ensemble in 2016 and 2018 to perform with professionals from across the Americas. Breena attended numerous summer intensives during her teenage years, including the New York State Summer School of the Arts Ballet Program, American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensives, and Orlando Ballet School’s Summer Intensive.

Throughout high school, Breena danced alongside Rochester City Ballet dancers in pieces like “Serenade”, “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, and “Sleeping Beauty”. Upon graduation, she joined Rochester City Ballet as an apprentice. During her apprenticeship, she danced the soloist role of “Christmas Spirit”. After leaving ballet, Breena earned her associate of science degree from Monroe Community College and is working towards a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Rochester. Breena teaches ballet, pointe, jazz, and conditioning across Rochester and is very excited to work with the NLDC dancers!
